All we seem to hear about nowadays is the recession and the overall sense of angst in this little isle of ours.
Well anybody who attended the Charity Tag Rugby event in Maynooth University on Saturday would certainly have left with sense that all is not lost as long as there are men like Ciaran Pollard and Shane Lynn coming through the ranks.
The organisation on Saturday was "Top of the Bus" as Bill Cullen would say. The turnout was fantastic with a 10 team mixed entry that included some thoroughbred racehorses as well as a few colourful donkeys all blended together and all there for the very worthy cause of the fight against Breast Cancer.
Maynooth University should be proud to have produced such a fine collection of ambassadors who will finish their fundraising exploits with a round trip cycle to Galway.
As you can see from the footage the day threw up more than just a sporting spectacle with a few local lunatics emerging to give us some high quality entertainment.
Thanks again to all those who supported this great day and I would like to wish the lads all the very best for the future.
